New digital maintenance service IoTFlex detects faults in advance and improves production efficiency
Caverion has launched IoTFlex, a maintenance service that will take industrial productivity and preventive maintenance to the next level. IoTFlex uses smart sensors to measure the actual condition of machines and employs real-time analytics to predict the occurrence of possible faults.
With analytics based on modern sensor technology, critical failures in the production line can be detected at the first signs, enhancing production efficiency and making it possible to address malfunctions before downtime occurs. The IoTFlex maintenance service is available for a range of industries and plants of all sizes.
“We have tested and developed IoTFlex this year with a few industrial clients representing different sectors. The results have been excellent, and clients have been excited about the service. Data collection is an established procedure, but the data must also be leveraged so as to gain real benefits and significantly improve the availability of a production plant,” says Thomas Hietto, Executive Vice President, Services, Caverion.
A new kind of failure prediction method has been developed for the system, enabling the easy adjustment of the failure prediction based on the running method of the machine. Another new feature is the easy adaptation of the system to a range of measurement needs, such as air particle measurements, vibrations, trace heating and condition measurements of electric motors.

The service includes smart IoTFlex sensors, a mobile user interface, a measurement and analysis application developed by Caverion, and the special expertise of Caverion professionals. IoTFlex will first be sold in Finland, and the service can be easily scaled to other countries.
